Data Manager – Cardiothoracic Surgery at NSW Health Employment Details Employment Type : Temporary Full Time until January 2027 Position Classification : Health Manager Level 1 Remuneration : $87,813.00 – $116,824.00 per annum plus superannuation Hours Per Week : 38 Requisition ID : REQ Applications Close : Sunday, 7 December 2025 A position exists for a Database Manager in our exciting cardiothoracic centre. The role is currently temporary with a view to transition into a permanent position. The Prince of Wales Public and Prince of Wales Private Hospitals rely on data analysis and reporting for quality assurance and benchmarking. The Data Manager provides reports for the cardiac department and individual surgeons for audit purposes and liaises with the surgical team to ensure database integrity. Each year we care for more than 70,000 patients in the Emergency Department and around 50,000 admissions to inpatient units. POWH offers an outpatient service, rural outreach, and more than 900,000 occasions of non‑admitted patient care, including innovative virtual care models. The hospital’s Acute Services Building houses a state‑of‑the‑art Emergency Department and Intensive Care Unit. The surrounding Randwick community is renowned for its beaches, restaurants, historic buildings, and vibrant nightlife. Selection Criteria A degree in a relevant field of public health data management or a combination of study and work experience demonstrating an understanding of data management in a public health setting. Demonstrated experience in data integrity and analysis, including intermediate proficiency in coding with Python or R. Effective written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills required for clinical service provision and report writing. Ability to analyse and interpret medical records accurately as a health information manager. Experience with MS Office, Excel, Access and internet search functions. Understanding of clinical workflow within a surgical environment. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team. Preferred experience with Human Research Ethics Committee and Research Governance Office application processes. Need More Information?
