At the NSW Education Standards Authority (NESA), we’re dedicated to carrying out meaningful work that drives improvements and elevates student achievement across NSW, now and into the future.

We accomplish this by supporting all school sectors with high-quality syllabuses, assessment (including managing the HSC and NAPLAN), teaching standards (e.g., accrediting teachers) and school environments (including setting and monitoring school standards).

About the role

It’s an exciting time to join the People and Culture (P&C) function at NESA. We are in a period of growth, transforming our operating model and service offerings to enable exceptional business outcomes. In addition to enhancing delivery of core operational services and pursuing new enabling technology solutions, the People and Culture team is responsible for designing and delivering an exciting agenda of strategic people priorities and programs.

Reporting to the Manager Organisational Development (OD) and part of a newly established organisational development function, the Senior Advisor OD will manage the design and delivery of innovative programs across NESA that enhance employee development, attraction, retention and engagement and promote a positive workplace culture. This is an exciting opportunity to work collaboratively across teams to co-create practical and effective people solutions and deliver value to the organisation across the entire employee lifecycle.

We are looking for a highly motivated individual to:

  • Design and implement a range of organisational development initiatives to improve capability and foster an engaged and high performing workforce
  • Build relationships and engage effectively with stakeholders and recommend appropriate programs to enhance business outcomes through people engagement and organisational culture
  • Apply strong project management practices to define programs goals, monitor key milestones and outcomes, and measure effectiveness
  • Build and maintain industry knowledge and leverage contemporary approaches that build organisational maturity and performance
  • Identify and leverage technology solutions to deploy user-centric listening, learning and performance initiatives, capture data, measure performance and deliver an improved employee experience
  • Embed and apply diversity, inclusion and equity principles and human-centred approaches in all engagement, retention, culture and capability programs and initiatives

About you

To be successful, you will need:

  • Demonstrated experience in successfully developing and implementing organisational development programs and initiatives in a range of organisational settings
  • Sound knowledge of adult learning and employee engagement principles and demonstrated experience using best practice approaches to inform design and delivery of OD initiatives
  • Experience working with a range of technology solutions and delivery channels to effectively design and implement effective OD solutions
