Kids Director | Liberti

The Liberti Kids Director oversees the kids ministry at Liberti Gold Coast. This is a 4-5 day per week role (0.8-1.0 FTE) that provides leadership to the Liberti Kids and Playgroup teams, developing these leaders to deliver gospel-centred curriculum and prayerful ministry, in age-appropriate environments. Partnering with families in the discipleship of the youngest generation of our church, this is a role for a leader of leaders, who is able to create a system of discipleship for children aged 0-12 years, that feeds into our Liberti Youth ministry, and scales with the growth of our church. RESPONSIBILITIES Program Development and Implementation:Create a fun, engaging, Jesus-focused ministry for children across our two Sunday worship services (soon to become three worship services in 2026); Organise, distribute and implement “The Gospel Project” and “The Bible Project” curriculum across respective Liberti Kids age groups each week Oversee the planning and implementation of weekly Playgroup meetings; Welcome and connect with parents/carers and families on Sundays at Liberti Church; Cultivates clear discipleship pathways that provide continuity from Liberti Kids to Liberti Youth, as children/young people make that transition; Design and distribute the weekly Liberti Kids Parent Question Leader Recruitment, Training and Development:Develop, implement and consistently reinforce a vision and culture within Liberti Kids that is consistent with Liberti Church values and mission; Build, train, lead and care for a team of volunteers passionate about serving in Liberti Kids and Playgroup; Facilitate leadership meetings and trainings as required for Liberti Kids and Playgroup leaders; Coordinate and implement a roster of leaders for multiple services each week, to ensure child-adult ratio is met and each Liberti Kids Room operates at a high level of excellence, safety, warmth, joy and gospel-centrality Cultivate and Maintain Effective Environments:Oversee the ongoing functionality, efficacy and maintenance of Liberti Kids environments, including each Liberti Kids room and the Liberti Kids Check-In area; Purchase consumables for each weekly service and engage in ongoing creative thinking about additional resources, furniture, supplies and activities that could enrich each Liberti Kids program/room Resourcing and Equipping:Create and distribute regular emails to parents that inform them of the upcoming curriculum that will be taught in Liberti Kids, and resource them to implement gospel-centred discipleship practices at home; Create and distribute regular emails to Liberti Kids Leaders that equip and encourage them in the work of ministry Contribute to a Collaborative and Dynamic Team Culture:Assist Connect/Pastoral Care team to connect new families to our church and follow up absent families to offer support; Facilitate and assist with special events, as they relate to children and families; Participate in weekly meetings with other Liberti Church staff; Work closely with Liberti Gold Coast Operations Director around ‘safe-church’ training for volunteers; Collaborate with staff at other Liberti church locations (e.g, Liberti South Gold Coast), to support the development and implementation of the Liberti Kids ministry at that Liberti church location. QUALIFICATIONS Passionately hold to the necessity of ‘gospel-doctrine’ and ‘gospel-culture’; Bachelor’s degree in Ministry or Education, or equivalent experience in church leadership roles; Fulfils the character qualifications of deacon as taught in the Scriptures (1 Timothy 3:8-13); Aligns with the mission, vision, distinctives, and beliefs of Liberti Church; Has a gospel-centred lens through which they view God’s Word, their life, and their ministry; Is marked by a life of prayer; Demonstrates humility and teachability, is hungry to learn and grow in their leadership; Demonstrates confident leadership that is able to lead large teams of volunteers and take initiative; Shows relational warmth and emotional intelligence; has the ability to communicate wisely and graciously in both spoken and written forms; Trustworthy: Has the experience and maturity to handle sensitive information in a confidential and professional manner; Resilient: Understands the ‘long-haul’ mentality of faithful ministry. Knows how to take a hit, rehearse the gospel, lean into the Holy Spirit, and keep going; Strong administrative and problem-solving skills: is resourceful, foresees challenges and supplies possible solutions; Dependable, flexible, and proactive: can get a lot done with limited direction & basic instructions; Role-models an organised and disciplined life; sets high standards and supports those standards with practical routines; Committed to upholding the Liberti Staff Values, cultivating a unified teamwork and collaboration with other staff and leaders; All Liberti staff must hold a current Blue Card for working with children, which ensures they have completed a National Police History Check that returns no disclosed outcomes that would exclude them from their role. The Kids Director works closely with and reports to the Ministries Director at Liberti Gold Coast, and alongside the other Liberti Staff. Hours: This is a full-time position of 4-5 days per week (30 – 38 hours). Start date: Negotiable, though the ideal candidate will be able to begin early December.
