We are seeking two skilled and dedicated Telecommunications Technical Officers to join our professional field operations team and contribute to the planning, testing, and maintenance of advanced network systems across Queensland. Location: 12 Elkhorn Court, North Lakes, QLD 4509 Employment Type: Full‑Time Salary: $77,000 – $82,000 + Superannuation Vacancies: 2 Positions Available The Role This position involves hands‑on technical work supporting the design, installation, maintenance, and optimisation of telecommunications systems. You’ll work on cabling, transmission, and network infrastructure—ensuring that performance, compliance, and client satisfaction are consistently achieved. Key Responsibilities Install, maintain, and repair telecommunications equipment, including optical fibre, copper networks, and data cabling systems. Conduct performance testing, fault diagnosis, and repairs on transmission and switching systems. Assist in the configuration and integration of network hardware and supporting infrastructure. Read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and specifications for network installations. Measure signal strength, line integrity, and transmission quality to ensure optimal performance. Maintain accurate records of network testing, maintenance schedules, and incident reports. Calibrate, test, and troubleshoot transmission and switching equipment to maintain service reliability. Ensure compliance with safety protocols, cabling standards, and client project requirements. Support engineering and project teams in field installations and commissioning activities. Provide technical advice and support to clients and internal teams as required. Skills & Experience Diploma or equivalent qualification in Telecommunications Technology, Electrical Engineering, or related field. Minimum 1-2 years’ practical experience in telecommunications or network field support. Strong knowledge of fibre optics, structured cabling, and data transmission systems. Ability to read and interpret technical diagrams, plans, and installation blueprints. Proficiency in testing and fault‑finding tools for both copper and fibre systems. Commitment to WHS and network safety compliance standards. Excellent problem‑solving and time‑management skills with the ability to work independently or in teams.
