Job Type: Permanent position | Full time position Job Description The Exchange Hotel Kalgoorlie is looking for Chefs to work with our kitchen team who will report to the Head Chef & Venue Manager. Responsibilities Demonstrate understanding of food preparation and production in the kitchen department, whilst taking direction from the Head Chef to ensure smooth operation of all kitchen duties. Ensure consistency of all menu items regardless of time of day or period of service. Day to day effective involvement in food operations, liaising with chefs and kitchen team to ensure smooth delivery of food to guests. Operate kitchen equipment to achieve required results for à la carte and function service. Work with the Head Chef to advance and improve current food operations. Understand stock control and work with kitchen team to minimise wastage. Maintain venue security and compliance – understand venue access and security of food stock, maintain alarm codes, venue keys and other access requests. Comply with food safety policy and procedures (HACCP) and conduct regular safety meetings with heads of departments. Enforce kitchen service standards, follow kitchen systems, policies and procedures on shift, and present oneself in accordance with venue dress standards. Respond to requests to perform other tasks from time to time which contribute to overall success of venue operations, maintain service standards during peak periods. Maintain a “can‑do” attitude in the face of adversity. Participate in performance reviews, scheduled and unscheduled check‑ins. Qualifications & Requirements At least 1 year of relevant experience in a commercial kitchen is required. All relevant experience will be considered. A positive, friendly, and enthusiastic attitude. Ability to excel under pressure in a high‑volume environment with excellent problem‑solving skills. Strong communication, negotiation and relationship skills. Attention to detail with a focus on consistency. Open and honest in all dealings to the advantage of both you and the business. Salary The annual salary range is from $65,000 to $80,000 commensurate with qualifications, skills and experience.
