About the Business Unit: The Office of the Public Advocate (OPA) is an independent statutory office accountable to the Victorian Parliament which has been established to protect the rights and enhance the position of people with disabilities in Victoria. About the Role: This job share position reports to the Director, Advocacy and Adult Protection and with the current incumbent who has recently returned from family leave and is responsible for effectively and efficiently leading, building and developing the advice and response functions to facilitate an integrated and coordinated access point for OPA services. Some of your duties will include: Providing leadership, direction and support to the Advice and Response teams to ensure the program meets its strategic priorities, legislative requirements, key performance targets and reporting requirements Working in collaboration with the Director, Adult Protection and the Operations Manager Guardianship to ensure effective service coordination and delivery across the respective program areas Identifying and responding to program issues & new and emerging trends within the program in consultation with the Director and Operations Manager Guardianship To learn more about this role before applying, please read the attached position description. About You: As our ideal candidate, you will possess: Significant experience in successfully managing the delivery of complex or diverse health or human service programs A deep understanding of the disability sector, including contact and/or knowledge of related systems such as aged care, child protection, criminal justice, family violence, mental health, NDIS and supported residential services A wealth of knowledge in substitute decision-making legislation and supported decision making would be an advantage Flexible and creative approaches to organisational practice and service delivery with an ability to innovate, continuously improve delivery and determine better practices.
