This is a great opportunity to join a Queensland Government team based in Townsville providing essential communications and stakeholder support across a busy program of planning and infrastructure projects. We’re seeking an AO3 Communications Officer who can confidently support day-to-day operational communication needs, create quality written materials, and assist with low-risk stakeholder engagement activities. About the Role Working as part of a collaborative Communications and Stakeholder Engagement team, you will play a key role in supporting project delivery by producing well‑written content and assisting with frontline communication tasks. This role frees senior team members to focus on complex and high‑priority issues, making your contribution highly valued. Key Responsibilities Prepare clear, well‑structured written materials including correspondence, flyers, social media posts, project updates and web content Assist with maintaining and updating project and program webpages Compile analytics, reports and documentation as required Respond to low‑risk stakeholder enquiries (including via phone) and provide courteous, informed communication Assist with the coordination and distribution of project information materials Manage and update correspondence and stakeholder tracking tools Gather stakeholder contact details, property information and maintain accurate records in systems such as spreadsheets and consultation databases Support stakeholder meetings alongside senior Engagement Officers where required About You You will thrive in a busy environment and enjoy supporting a team with a diverse range of communication tasks. You bring: Strong writing skills and the ability to tailor content for different audiences Professional communication skills and confidence engaging with low‑risk stakeholders Strong organisation, attention to detail and ability to manage competing priorities Previous experience in a communications, administration, or stakeholder support role (government experience advantageous but not essential) Why Join?
