Overview Join to apply for the Head of Learning and Teaching role at National Art School. The National Art School (NAS) is Australia's leading independent art school. We are a not-for-profit independent Higher Education Institution offering accredited degree programs in Fine Art at undergraduate and postgraduate levels. NAS is at an exciting phase of development as we seek to consolidate our position as Australia's leading independent fine art school and extend our international reach and reputation. Central to the realisation of that ambition is our continuing commitment to the individual development of students through intensive studio‑based learning under the guidance of experienced artists and educators. Responsibilities Provide academic leadership, working closely with the Heads of academic departments and programmes to lead the development and implementation of learning and teaching activities of higher education programmes. Develop and deliver curricula, manage departmental staff, and develop learning and teaching resources. Provide artistic and scholarly leadership through professional example and maintain a track record of original and innovative contributions to the advancement of scholarship, research and teaching within the field. Lead and manage the higher education programmes of the National Art School in line with the School's strategic priorities. Qualifications A commitment to academic excellence with innovative, inclusive, student‑centered pedagogies. Substantial experience in academic leadership including course and curriculum design in the Fine Arts and/or related fields. Substantial experience in developing and implementing Teaching and Learning policy and practice. Extensive knowledge of best‑practice standards in course development and delivery. Extensive knowledge of regulatory standards including the Australian Higher Education Standards Framework (HESF) and Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF). A record of original and innovative contributions to scholarship, research and teaching within the field. Postgraduate qualifications at AQF level 10 or equivalent professional experience.
