Our model combines strategic investment with hands‑on operational support, centralising key functions such as finance, marketing, technology, and practice management to create efficiency, unlock growth, and allow our partner firms to focus on delivering exceptional client outcomes. The Role The Business Development Manager is responsible for sourcing, developing, and managing new business opportunities and strategic partnerships for Sather Legal and its associated law firms. The role focuses on building referral networks, generating leads, and driving commercial growth. Responsibilities Support the development and rollout of the Sather Legal BD strategy. Create tailored BD plans for individual practices. Measure results, track conversions, and report revenue impact. Build and manage referral partnerships across relevant industries. Strengthen engagement with partners through structured follow‑up and communication. Represent Sather Legal at networking events and industry forums. Develop structured lead generation plans for all practice areas. Identify new market opportunities and emerging sectors. Coordinate with practice teams to ensure follow‑up and conversion. Collaborate with Practice Managers, Heads of Practice, and lawyers. Work closely with the Marketing Manager on campaigns, events, and initiatives. Provide market insights to inform strategic decisions. Monitor legal and professional services market trends. Identify opportunities for new offerings or niche markets. Prepare recommendations for leadership. Maintain accurate CRM and partner activity records. Provide monthly BD reports. Document referral agreements and partnership arrangements. Skills, Experience & Qualifications Minimum 4–5 years experience in business development, partnerships, or sales. Preference for experience in professional services environments. Proven ability to generate leads and build revenue‑impacting partnerships. Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills. Capability to work autonomously and drive measurable outcomes. Experience in legal or other regulated sectors. Familiarity with CRM systems and sales pipelines. Existing networks across property, finance, accounting, or advisory sectors. Attributes & Capabilities Confident communicator with strong relationship skills. Highly proactive with a commercial mindset. Strong organisational and prioritisation abilities. Comfortable managing multiple BD initiatives across multiple brands. Able to travel as required for partner and practice meetings.
