About the role We are seeking an experienced HME Maintenance Superintendent to lead our maintenance team based at Peak Downs Mine in the Bowen Basin. This leadership role will oversee the day-to-day maintenance operations for a large fleet of heavy mining equipment including CAT 793 haul trucks, D11 dozers, and 24M graders, ensuring safe, efficient, and cost-effective outcomes while supporting and enhancing our client relationship on site. Key Responsibilities: Provide leadership and direction to maintenance supervisors, trades, and support personnel. Manage daily maintenance planning, execution, and reporting activities. Drive a strong safety culture aligned with National Group and client expectations. Maintain and strengthen our relationship with the client and mine owner through effective communication, transparency, and consistent delivery of service excellence. Monitor equipment performance, availability, and reliability targets. Coordinate maintenance shutdowns and planned work schedules. Support continuous improvement initiatives across people, process, and plant. Build positive working relationships with clients, contractors, and internal stakeholders. Skills & experience Proven experience in a similar HME maintenance leadership role within mining. Trade qualification in Plant Mechanic / Diesel Fitting or relevant engineering discipline (desirable). Strong understanding of Caterpillar, Komatsu, or similar fleet maintenance practices. Excellent communication, leadership, and organisational skills. Commitment to safety, quality, and team development. Experience using maintenance management systems (e.g., AMT, or similar).
