At Safety Bay Bowling Club we are more than just a local sporting venue — we are a thriving community hub with over 780 loyal members, a proud legacy, and a future full of opportunity and to help us achieve our goals we have created a new role of a dedicated Club Manager. About the Role As our Club Manager, you will be the driving force behind the day-to-day running and long-term success of the club — delivering exceptional experiences for members and visitors, enhancing our financial sustainability and giving the Committee of Management the freedom to focus on leadership, not logistics. You’ll be part operations leader, part experience designer, and part community builder — working in a highly visible, people-first role at the heart of a club that means so much to so many. What You will Do Lead Operations: Oversee all day-to-day club activities — bar, bookings, events, facilities, staffing, and venue readiness. Drive Financial Health: Manage budgets in consultation with the Committee of Management Lead Strategic Projects: Help deliver major upgrades, grant‑funded projects, and long‑term plans Activate Community use: Promote the club as a venue for community, corporate and casual hire. Ensure Compliance: Manage governance, liquor licensing, and RWWA/TAB regulations (including certification requirements). About You You are organised, proactive, and people‑focused — someone who thrives in an environment with autonomy, variety, and purpose. You love the idea of being a visible leader in a strong community club and understand the balance of operational detail and big‑picture thinking. Your skills and experience Strong experience in venue, hospitality, or community management Proven ability to manage teams, suppliers, and customer experience Exceptional communication, time management, and follow‑through A flexible, can‑do attitude — you get things done without needing to be asked twice Ideally you will hold the following certificates/licences or be willing to obtain them prior to or shortly after commencement. Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) – Mandatory Approved Manager Licence – Mandatory RWWA TAB Compliance Certification – Required (training provided) What You will Get A competitive salary commencing on $90,000 + superannuation A Supportive Committee: a committed team that values your input and empowers your decisions NOTE: This is a fixed term contract of 2 years (inc 3 month probationary period) with the option of extension if the role is successful for all parties.
