Base pay range A$151,221.00/yr - A$168,735.00/yr Senior Administrative Officer 1 - Remuneration Package Range $151,221 - $168,735 (including salary $128,551 - $143,611) Aboriginal Engagement and Strategy Darwin One full time ongoing vacancy commencing 02/02/2026 is available The Role As the Manager Elders Visiting Program , you’ll lead the delivery of culturally informed engagement initiatives across the Northern Territory and oversee the Elders Visiting Program to ensure quality outcomes and compliance with program objectives. You will also drive the development of cultural strategies, manage governance and reporting processes, and build strong partnerships with Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisations and key stakeholders. Elders Visiting Program The Elders Visiting Program is a culturally significant initiative that connects Aboriginal Elders with prisoners and communities across the Northern Territory, including Darwin, Alice Springs, Nhulunbuy and Tennant Creek. Elders provide cultural guidance, advice, and support to help individuals strengthen identity, plan for release, and maintain ties to culture and community. By fostering connection and promoting healing, the program plays a vital role in reducing reoffending and improving outcomes for Aboriginal people. About you You’re a culturally aware leader who combines strategic thinking with communication and a commitment to positive outcomes. To be successful you’ll have: Strong leadership experience with proven ability to manage teams and drive change in complex service delivery environments. Deep understanding of and experience with culturally appropriate approaches for Aboriginal people within the criminal justice system. Proven knowledge of HR and organisational development practices, including strategic planning, change management, and policy development. Experience in managing programs and projects, including planning, risk management, stakeholder engagement, and monitoring performance against key milestones. High level communication and negotiation skills to effectively collaborate across agencies, stakeholder groups, and Aboriginal organisations. In order to be considered for this position you must identify Aboriginal and be able to supply a Certificate of Aboriginality prior to commencement in the with the agencies Special Measures.
