Senior Network and Security Engineer – Experteq Join our high‑performing Network Services team as a hands‑on Senior Network and Security Engineer, delivering resilient, scalable solutions across operational and project support environments. About the role Reporting to the Practice Manager Network Services, you will maintain, secure and optimise critical infrastructure for some of Australia's most essential organisations, ensuring high performance, availability and compliance across regulated and enterprise environments. What you will do Deliver and support secure, high‑performance network infrastructure across BAU operations and project support. Proactively monitor and maintain network and security systems, ensuring availability and optimal performance; perform risk analysis to support continuous improvement. Collaborate with cross‑functional teams and project managers to implement resilient infrastructure and security solutions. Create and maintain accurate network documentation and diagrams to support operational continuity. Ensure compliance with frameworks such as ISO 27001, SOC 2, PCI‑DSS and Essential Eight. Provide after‑hours support by participating in the on‑call roster. Who you are 8+ years in network engineering and deployment, including 5+ years in network security solutions within a managed services or professional services environment. Certified in Fortinet technologies (FortiGate, FortiManager, FortiAnalyzer); Fortinet Certified Associate or Professional preferred. Working knowledge of Cloudflare SaaS security products (e.g., WAF, Zero Trust, DNS, Load Balancing). Skilled in enterprise routing and switching (Cisco, Arista); CCNP or equivalent preferred. Familiar with VPN/IPSec, Cisco ISE and load‑balancer technologies (Kemp, F5, NetScaler). Strong problem‑solving skills, attention to detail, team collaborator with excellent communication skills. Experience with ITSM platforms such as ServiceNow or similar. Understanding of compliance frameworks, especially within the financial sector. Scripting or automation knowledge is a bonus.
