This role is based remotely and offers up to $400,000/year. 2 Hour Learning seeks a deeply technical product leader to drive the architectural modernization of our AI‑powered learning ecosystem. You will act as a CTO‑grade technical product owner responsible for architecture, technical direction, and AI integration across the entire learning platform. Your work will shape how students learn in real time, unlocking student potential at scale. Unlike typical product management roles, this position focuses on architectural strategy rather than iterative releases. You will own critical technical trade‑offs, keep products lean, scalable, and relentlessly student‑outcome oriented. You will merge engineering rigor with learning science to continuously deliver breakthroughs. What You Will Be Doing Building and maintaining deep expertise in education products to inform strategic decisions Creating technical specifications that resolve critical technical choices, emphasizing simplicity, efficiency, and sustainability Deploying generative AI technologies to automate and optimize engineering workflows, in alignment with the strategic objective of minimizing manual effort What You Won’t Be Doing Exclusively managing people – this role depends critically on business insight and technical judgment Spending time on meetings, committees, or administrative overhead; the role is focused on direct execution Proposing abstract strategies without actionable implementation details; guidance must be grounded in product‑level analysis Principal Product Architect Key Responsibilities Serve as the CTO for one or more education products, controlling core competencies and generating business value through flawless execution and strategic leadership Basic Requirements Deep experience or interest in data‑driven learning science 7+ years of experience making critical architecture and design decisions on software projects, such as implementation of architecture design patterns or significant open‑source technologies 2+ years of experience making design decisions involving cloud computing services (primarily AWS) 4+ years of experience in positions with full technical and delivery ownership on a revenue‑generating product Experience building product features that make advanced use of Generative AI Experience using Generative AI to simplify work processes About 2 Hour Learning Education is broken, but 2 Hour Learning is proving it doesn’t have to be. Working with us This is a full‑time (40 hours per week), long‑term position. It is immediately available and requires entering into an independent contractor agreement with Crossover as a Contractor of Record. Compensation is $200 USD/hour, which equals $400 000 USD/year assuming 40 hours per week and 50 weeks per year. Payment is weekly.
