Your role at St John of God Murdoch Hospital You will lead the development of a specialist palliative care framework for Murdoch Community Hospice, providing clinical leadership and expert consultancy to internal and external services. Our Hospice offers a home-like, supportive environment where patients and families can spend meaningful time together. You will help optimise each patient’s quality of life by managing pain and symptoms, ensuring they remain comfortable and supported. Compassionate end-of-life care for patients, carers and families is central to our mission, and you will play a key role in delivering it. This position will be offered on permanent part-time basis, working 68 hours per fortnight. The Position Commitment to providing local support and leadership for primary care providers in palliative care, metropolitan and rural Western Australia. Promote excellence and implements best practice that supports the delivery of evidence based clinical care in palliative care. Review current clinical practices and identifies strategies to improve efficiency and the quality of service to patients. Maintain advanced clinical skills relevant to palliative care practice. Act as a clinical resource for Hospital staff. Initiate and co-ordinates care of patients with complex problems. Consult with other SJOG Palliative Care Facilities to provide telephone advice and education. Co-ordinates and develops outpatient services at Murdoch Community Hospice. In conjunction with the Learning and Development Facilitator develops, implements and evaluates in-service education for caregivers. Develops, coordinates and participates as appropriate, in research-based quality improvement initiatives and processes to support professional practice, practice standards and practice environments. Qualifications and Experience With previous experience in a clinical leadership role within a multi-disciplinary environment, you will With experience in clinical leadership within a multidisciplinary setting, you will bring strong interpersonal and communication skills, including conflict resolution, negotiation, problem-solving and the ability to lead teams through change. You are adaptable, collaborative and able to work effectively within a diverse team environment. You will also demonstrate a commitment to quality improvement and evidence-based practice, supported by up-to-date knowledge of relevant legislation and professional standards. You will hold current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse, along with possession of (or substantial progress towards) a relevant postgraduate qualification. You will have more than five years of experience in specialist palliative care at a senior leadership level. Knowledge and experience in the EQUIP accreditation process, policy development, and implementing standards and legislative requirements are essential. What we offer Salary: $125,296 per annum (pro rata for part-time), plus 12% superannuation. A part-time position, working 68 hours per fortnight.
