Join to apply for the UI and UX Lead role at Australian Ethical Investment Are you a hands‑on UI/UX expert who thrives at the intersection of design and front‑end development? Would you like to unleash your creative and technical expertise for a purpose‑led, growing ASX Listed Company? This is a rare opportunity to join the Consumer Marketing and Digital team in one of Australia’s most loved, impactful and purpose‑led superannuation brands About Us Australian Ethical is Australia’s original and fastest‑growing super fund and ethical investment manager. We are ASX‑listed with $14 billion in funds under management (and growing) and offer a selection of award‑winning managed funds and superannuation products. Our purpose is to invest for a better world, and we have been pioneers in this space for over 30 years. For us, investing has two aims – generating solid financial returns and a positive impact for people, planet, and animals. At Australian Ethical, we prove that money can be a force for good. We do this by staying true to our purpose, which is embedded throughout our organisation and drives our everyday activities as a business, investor, brand, employer, and corporate citizen. We’re a registered B Corp and fully committed to an inclusive, equitable and forward‑thinking workplace culture. Your new role In your new role as UI and UX Lead you’ll define the DNA of our digital experiences, delivering high‑performance, accessible, and visually compelling digital experiences across our websites, apps, and campaigns. This is more than a design role, it’s a chance to architect the visual and interactive layers of our digital ecosystem, lead innovation in design systems, and drive measurable impact through conversion optimisation and performance excellence. Key responsibilities include: Design & Interaction Excellence – Craft high‑fidelity mockups, motion prototypes, and micro‑interactions using tools like Adobe XD, Sketch, After Effects, or Principle. Apply design psychology and interaction heuristics to elevate user experience. Performance & Accessibility Leadership – Conduct Lighthouse audits and Core Web Vitals optimisation. Ensure WCAG 2.2 AA compliance through ARIA roles, keyboard navigation, and screen reader testing. Champion accessibility and performance across all platforms. Design System Ownership – Architect and maintain our enterprise‑level design system and component library. Define naming conventions, token structures, and theming standards. Use tools like Storybook, Zeroheight, or Bit.dev to document and scale. Conversion Rate Optimisation (CRO) – Lead A/B and multivariate testing, prototype conversion‑driven UI changes, and maintain a prioritised CRO backlog. Collaborate with marketing and analytics to reduce friction and improve engagement. Innovation & Tooling – Explore emerging technologies like WebGL, CSS Houdini, and AI‑driven UI personalisation. Contribute to reusable UI toolkits, participate in code reviews, and stay ahead of front‑end trends. Cross‑Functional Collaboration – Work closely with Brand, Content, CRM, and Marketing teams to ensure design consistency and alignment across all digital touchpoints. What we’re looking for You’re a technically skilled and creatively driven UI/UX professional who thrives at the intersection of design and front‑end development. You bring a deep understanding of digital product design, performance optimisation, and accessibility, with a passion for crafting seamless, scalable, and engaging user experiences. You’re excited by innovation, meticulous about detail, and committed to delivering high‑quality outcomes that make a measurable impact. If you have experience in the following, we’d love to hear from you: 4+ years in UI/UX, front‑end development, or interface design within digital teams or agencies Proven experience designing, coding, and deploying complex user interfaces at scale Strong track record in CRO, usability testing, and performance optimisation Experience with design systems, accessibility standards, and responsive frameworks Tertiary qualifications in Interaction Design, Front‑End Engineering, or related fields highly desirable A passion for innovation, collaboration, and delivering exceptional user experiences Alignment with our values: Authenticity, Action, Curiosity, Connection, and Empathy What’s in it for you A competitive salary, including short‑term and long‑term incentives and access to an Employee Share Plan Wellbeing program that includes an extra 5 days of leave above statutory requirement 20 days paid annual leave with an additional 3 paid days of annual leave over the Christmas period At Australian Ethical we embrace diversity in our people and thinking.
