Full time, Contract, Part time, Casual/Temporary As the Principal Project Officer, you are part of a dedicated team responsible for undertaking high-level policy, legislation and project work required to progress the implementation of the Criminal Procedure Review (Magistrates Courts) reforms. You will have a central role in delivering a key policy and legislative reform project for justice system administration in Queensland. Responsibilities Develop and implement new criminal procedure Bills for Queensland's Magistrates Courts, including by instructing the Office of the Queensland Parliamentary Counsel (OQPC) and preparing related materials (e.g., explanatory notes). Research, analyse and provide strategic advice and information about complex legal policy issues related to criminal procedure and Magistrates Courts. Develop and implement subordinate legislative or policy projects necessary to support the implementation of new criminal procedure Bills, including preparing drafting instructions and/or related supporting materials, such as a plain English guide to new legislation. Prepare submissions, briefs, memorandums, correspondence, Parliament, Cabinet and Executive Council documentation and other materials. Consult and work collaboratively with relevant statutory bodies, departments, professional bodies and community groups about legislative and policy matters. Participate in inter‑departmental and inter‑agency meetings and working groups, and undertake other duties as required. Support the team, Director, and Senior Director to deliver on reform goals and objectives; and undertake other duties as directed. Applications to remain current for 12 months. #J-18808-Ljbffr
