About the Role We’re looking for a Lead Staff Frontend Engineer to join our Sydney team and drive the development of intuitive, high-performance user interfaces that power our global advertising platform. You’ll lead a team of three frontend engineers, mentor them in best practices, and collaborate cross-functionally to deliver elegant solutions at scale. What You’ll Do Lead and mentor a team of 3 frontend engineers, fostering growth and technical excellence Architect and build scalable React-based applications that power our client-facing tools Collaborate with product managers, designers, and backend engineers to deliver seamless user experiences Champion frontend performance, accessibility, and maintainability across the codebase Drive technical decision-making and contribute to long-term frontend strategy Must-Have Qualifications Deep expertise in React and modern JavaScript/TypeScript Comfortable working with backend APIs and full-stack collaboration Proven experience leading engineering teams and driving delivery People management experience Strong understanding of frontend architecture, performance optimisation, and testing Ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly and effectively Passion for mentoring and growing engineering talent Nice-to-Have Qualifications Experience with design systems or component libraries Exposure to advertising technology or data-heavy applications Why Join Us At The Trade Desk, you’ll work on meaningful problems with brilliant people.
