The Opportunity We’re seeking an experienced and commercially astute Financial Controller to lead Kokoda’s financial management and reporting functions. Reporting to the CFO, this role plays a critical part in ensuring the company’s financial health, driving operational excellence and providing strategic insights that influence key business decisions. You’ll oversee financial control across the Group and related entities, ensuring accuracy, compliance and efficiency in reporting, budgeting, forecasting and analysis. You’ll also partner with the leadership team to identify opportunities, manage risk and deliver actionable insights that strengthen Kokoda’s position as a high‑performing, growth‑focused business. About the Role Manage delivery of monthly management accounts and consolidated financial statements for the Group Review and oversee project feasibilities, budgets and cashflow forecasts Lead annual budget preparation and financial planning processes Drive process improvement and cost efficiency across all areas of finance Manage payroll function, overseeing compliance with financial and statutory obligations Ensure accurate reporting and compliance with bank and finance facility covenants Liaise with external accountants, auditors and the ATO to ensure full statutory compliance Support tax planning and contribute to optimal legal and financial structuring Partner with the CFO and senior leadership team on strategic initiatives and business planning Lead, develop and inspire a high‑performing finance team About You Degree qualified in Accounting, Commerce or related discipline (CA/CPA preferred) 8+ years’ experience in financial management, ideally within property development or construction Strong technical accounting knowledge, including consolidations, tax and compliance Proven ability to drive process improvements and deliver timely, accurate financial reporting Highly analytical with strong commercial insight and business acumen Strategic thinker who can balance operational detail with big‑picture priorities Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills Collaborative leader with integrity, initiative and a solutions‑driven mindset Why Join Us?
