Job no: Work type: Full TimeLocation: Melbourne - South Based at Visy BevCan’s Clayton site, this hands‑on full‑time role has national responsibility across our beverage can manufacturing operations where you’ll be active on the shop floor and provide real‑time continuous improvement coaching. Reporting to the Head of Engineering - Beverage Cans, you will champion lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, and structured problem‑solving to drive measurable improvements in efficiency, quality, safety, and sustainability. You’ll work closely with site teams, technical experts, and leadership to embed a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence. What You’ll Do Develop and implement CI strategies aligned with business goals. Hands‑on role, active on the shop floor with real‑time coaching. Lead cross‑functional projects focused on waste elimination, scrap reduction, and process standardisation and optimisation. Monitor and report on KPIs including scrap rates, cost of quality, and ROI. Train and mentor teams in CI methodologies and tools. Collaborate with Quality and Food Safety teams to align improvements with FSSC22000 and other standards. Drive environmental improvements including aluminium scrap reduction and energy efficiency. What You Will Bring Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Materials Science or related field. Experience in manufacturing or packaging. Strong knowledge of lean tools. Excellent analytical, communication, and project management skills. Proficiency in data analysis tools. Familiarity with ERP systems. Lean Six Sigma certification and experience in food packaging compliance (FSSC22000, ISO9001, HACCP) highly regarded.
