About the role: This position is situated within the MacKillop National After-Hours Services Unit which is responsible for providing high quality residential care that supports the emotional, social and behavioural care needs of vulnerable young people. The After-Hours Support Worker will support staff in providing ‘best practice’ care that meets the day-to-day needs of young people whilst delivering high quality outcomes for all young people and their families. Participate in team meetings with the National After-Hours Support Worker Team and other forums as required. We are looking for 3 permanent full-time workers based in Preston, VIC within our MacKillop National After-Hours Service. The position reports to the Team Leader/ Coordinator. Key Selection Criteria: To be successful in this role, you will have: At least 3-5 years experience in youth services or residential care; A minimum qualification of a Diploma of Communication Services Ability to relate to and work with young people with social, emotional and behavioural difficulties. Ability to implement behaviour management plans for young people with challenging behaviours; Experience and understanding of OH&s issues in the workplace; Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written; Please address the full Key Selection Criteria outlined in the PD as part of your application. Our offer: Hourly Rate of $37.35 to $40.05 as outlined in the SCHADS Award Level 3, dependent on qualification and experience.
