Perinatal (Pregnancy) Family Conferencing (PFC) is a strengths-based, trauma-informed program delivered in partnership with the Department of Communities and Justice (DCJ) that provides an empowering structured framework for families and services to have transparent conversations about child protection issues through the use of family conferencing in the perinatal period. Based at the Population and Community Health office at William St in Woolloomooloo, this role works across the Health district with pregnant women and their supports. The position is within the Counselling, Violence Prevention and Response team and is closely supported by the Pregnancy Family Conferencing Coordinator. Planning, coordinating, and implementing facilitation of pregnancy family conferencing. Providing in-depth clinical expertise and specialised psycho-social counselling within a trauma-informed model. Ensuring high quality independent conference facilitation consistent with NSW Health and SESLHD policies. Liaising with SESLHD perinatal services, coordinating conferences in partnership with the PFC Coordinator, DCJ and other stakeholders. Mentoring and supporting casual facilitators and developing service improvements, including cultural safety. Providing education to facilitators, health workers and interagency partners. Selection Criteria Relevant qualification in Bachelor of Social Work providing eligibility for membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers OR recognised 4‑year degree in Psychology and registration with the Psychology Board of Australia (PsyBA) OR tertiary counselling qualifications with eligibility for appropriate association membership OR Education Centre Against Violence (ECAV) Aboriginal Qualification Pathway Graduate Certificate or Master of Social Work (Qualifying). Clinical experience in trauma‑specific service provision in violence, abuse and neglect with demonstrated ability to facilitate discussions about complex and contentious topics. Demonstrated commitment to professional education, clinical and cultural supervision with experience providing culturally responsive facilitation and if relevant to the application, experience providing clinical supervision and leading education and teaching to staff and/or students. Excellent negotiation, decision making and advocacy skills including the ability to interact constructively and collaboratively with a diverse range of stakeholders, throughout all organisational levels. Demonstrated ability to provide high‑level clinical advice, education and support to others in providing service excellence. Ability to work as part of a multi‑disciplinary team and to apply advanced reasoning skills and independent professional judgement when dealing with situations of a novel, complex or critical nature. Demonstrated ability to initiate, lead, complete and share quality improvement initiatives and service evaluation processes.
