Studio Schools of Australia – Fitzroy Crossing WA Studio Schools of Australia 2026 TEACHER RECRUITMENT About Studio Schools of Australia (SSA) SSA was established in 2019 to deliver "system-level" change in Indigenous secondary education across northern Australia. Based on the proven Yiramalay/Wesley Studio School model, our mission is to enable Indigenous students to lead their own advancement and take a meaningful place in their communities. We are strictly committed to being a child‑safe environment. Overview Join an innovative residential school located on Country in the remote north. Co-designed with local communities and the Indigenous Education and Research Centre (IERC), we foster Indigenous success through a holistic "Two‑Way" learning model where teachers, students, and Elders learn from one another. Four Circles of Learning integrates: Indigenous Language and Culture: Grounding students in identity. Academic Learning: Developing intellectual capabilities. Personal and Social Learning: Building positive self‑concepts. Enterprise Learning: Fostering community contribution and responsibility. Operational Responsibilities Design and deliver engaging, hands‑on lessons that incorporate on‑country, experiential learning. Plan developmentally appropriate programs and integrate Aboriginal languages where possible. Deliver targeted literacy interventions and support EAL/D students. Implement and monitor Individual Learning Plans (ILPs) for student progress. Actively participate in the co‑curricular program, including afternoon, evening, and weekend activities. Use assessment data to inform teaching and drive student learning outcomes. Provide care and discretion when supporting students facing challenges. Engage in ongoing professional learning and reflective practice. Skills and Capabilities Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) with current registration (or eligibility) with the Teacher Registration Board of Western Australia (TRBWA). Cultural Awareness: Genuine commitment to working respectfully with Aboriginal students and communities. Teaching Aptitude: Demonstrated experience delivering differentiated learning for diverse needs, including EAL/D and learning challenges. Student Well‑being: Understanding of trauma‑informed practices and Positive Education to support student resilience. Professionalism: Strong communication skills, adaptability, and the capacity to manage workload in a remote setting. Technology: Confident use of technology for teaching and reporting. Desirable Experience in remote, culturally diverse, or vocational (TAFE/VCAL) settings. Australian Driver’s Licence is mandatory. Current First Aid certification. Employment Applicants must have Australian work rights. Must provide a current WA Working with Children Check (WWCC) and National Police Check (NPC).
