Youth Housing Specialist

This full‑time role of Youth Housing Specialist (Identified) supports our mission by providing crisis, brief intervention and ongoing planned support to young people including BYS tenants, enabling young people to successfully transition into independent living. You’ll be a great candidate for this role if you: Hold a tertiary qualification in Social Work, Human Services, Psychology, Social Sciences or a comparable qualification OR have substantial demonstrated experience in a related field. Have experience working holistically with vulnerable young people, including crisis intervention and ongoing support. Have the ability to build strong, trusting relationships with young people and young families. Have experience conducting thorough assessments, including suicide and DFV risk assessments. Have an understanding of community housing provider responsibilities under the National Regulatory System of Community Housing (NRSCH). Have strong organisational skills, the ability to work independently and as part of a team. Have effective communication and advocacy skills. Given the work that we do there will be a few non‑negotiables. You’ll need to be able to have, or obtain prior to commencement: Working with Children Suitability Card (Blue Card). National Police Check clearance. Evidence of vaccination, immunity, or medical exemption for the following preventable diseases – Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella (Chicken Pox) and Pertussis (Whooping Cough).
