This role is a split role filing for both 7.30 and for the Tasmanian newsroom. Working closely with the Supervising Producers at 7.30, the role will also report to Editor, TAS News, filing for the newsroom, one week per month. The Job Research, write, and present accurate, engaging news and current affairs content. Produce impactful long‑form stories that reflect Australia’s diversity. Source material, conduct interviews, and deliver stories quickly and clearly. Create high‑quality content across multiple platforms. Stay informed on national issues and build key community relationships. Collaborate with colleagues to develop stories relevant to all Australians. About You Relevant qualifications or equivalent experience. Strong research, storytelling, and editorial judgment. Skilled in long‑form reporting and digital journalism. Excellent presentation and production abilities. Organised, collaborative, and able to work independently. Broad understanding of Australian issues and diverse communities.
