The Role As our Applications Technician, you will work within the newly formed applications team on metrology, microscopy, and delivering demonstration projects for customer-oriented initiatives. You’ll be an early member of the team with opportunities for growth and broader technical experience within Syenta. Your Key Responsibilities Perform novel studies of the LEM process and electrochemical depositions to advance Syenta’s technical development and customer applications. Conduct metrology studies on novel LEM applications using in-house and external equipment (e.g., SEM, conductivity measurements, optical microscopy) to characterize results. Maintain comprehensive data records with high accuracy and completeness. Lab safety and cleanliness: conduct risk assessments and maintain lab operations to the highest safety standards defined by Syenta. About You Experience: ≥ 1 year in a chemical lab and spectroscopy environment. Electrochemical experience and microscopy experience are highly regarded. Basic Python and electronics knowledge are a plus. Mindset: A “get stuff done” attitude, thriving in a fast-paced startup environment. Comfortable juggling multiple tasks and diligently keeping records. Cross-Disciplinary Mindset: Work spans chemical lab operations and cross-disciplinary electrochemical, electrical, and microscopy characterization. Growth-Oriented: Interested in building expertise in electrochemistry and electronic engineering with room for advancement as the organization scales. Technical Must Haves Wet chemical lab experience with demonstrated capacity (e.g., honours/masters research or equivalent industry experience). Microscopy and metrology experience across optical, confocal, and electron microscopy, conductivity testing, and physical characterisations (adhesion, grain structure). Desirable Experience and Skills Electrochemical experience, especially electrochemical plating. Microfluidics concepts and applications. Mechanical and electrical metrology experience and physical characterisations. Experience working in semiconductor-grade cleanroom environments. Data science skills with Python for data analysis.
