About the role Join a leading supply chain team driving global import excellence and operational innovation. As Ocean Freight & Inbound Logistics Manager you will lead our inbound logistics function, overseeing the full journey from supplier to warehouse and managing global freight contracts, cost efficiencies, regulatory compliance, and a high‑performing team. Responsibilities Lead and optimise end-to-end inbound ocean freight operations, from purchase orders to final warehouse delivery and container dehire. Manage annual freight tenders, negotiate commercial agreements and drive supplier performance through regular business reviews. Build strong partnerships with freight forwarders, wharf cartage providers and customs authorities. Oversee compliance with customs, biosecurity and international trade regulations, including the Trusted Trader Program. Identify opportunities for cost savings, lead‑time reduction and improved container utilisation. Develop KPI dashboards, monitor LSP performance and lead root‑cause analysis for service exceptions. Mentor and develop the team, fostering a collaborative, compliant and results‑driven culture. About you You are a strategic and analytical logistics leader who thrives on solving complex challenges and delivering measurable results. You combine commercial acumen with operational know-how and are comfortable working across stakeholders and trade lanes. Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, International Trade or related field (preferred). 5+ years of experience in ocean freight, forwarding or import logistics management. Proven success in freight contract negotiation and tender management. Strong knowledge of Australian import regulations, customs clearance and free trade agreements. Advanced Excel and analytical skills. Experience with ERP or freight visibility systems (e.g. Pronto) is highly regarded. Leadership experience with small to medium teams.
