The school will commence with Years 7 and 8 and will expand progressively by adding a year level each subsequent year until it becomes a full Years 7 to 12 secondary school. Melrose Park High School will also include a dedicated Support Unit as a vital part of the school community, providing specialised support to students with additional needs. This is a unique opportunity to shape the culture, vision, and future of a school from its inception, building and leading a dynamic team dedicated to delivering high-quality education for our community’s students. As the Establishment Principal, you will provide inspiring and strategic leadership during the critical formative years of the school. You will ensure the successful establishment of operational frameworks, curriculum programmes, and positive community partnerships to build a vibrant, inclusive learning environment. Specific Selection Criteria Demonstrated ability to develop, implement, and embed effective operational and academic systems within a new or significantly transitioning school settings. Demonstrated experience in building and leading a cohesive, motivated, and collaborative teaching and administrative team that fosters a culture of high expectations among staff, students and community. Demonstrate capacity to effectively engage with students, families, staff, and external partners to establish and maintain a strong school identity and community connections. General Selection Criteria High level educational leadership with the skills to lead and manage a complex public school focused on the delivery of high quality education. Ability to lead and manage rigorous and inclusive whole school teaching and learning programmes. High level communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build positive relationships and engage all levels of the school and educational community. Ability to lead and manage the development and performance of staff to improve teaching and learning. Ability to plan systems and manage resources effectively and equitably to enhance teaching and learning. Capacity to lead staff in implementing the Department's Aboriginal education policy and to ensure quality outcomes for Aboriginal people. Conditions An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement.
