Education Assistant – Special Needs Position: Permanent part‑time (0.6 FTE), commencing Term 1, 2026 at Gwynne Park Primary School, Armadale, Western Australia. About the School: Gwynne Park Primary School serves a richly diverse community with students from over 25 ethnic backgrounds. The school is committed to a culture of care for staff, students and families. Role Summary As an Education Assistant – Special Needs you will work under teacher direction to support the delivery of education programs and promote an inclusive learning environment. Responsibilities include: Assist with the planning and implementation of teaching activities for students with diverse learning needs. Provide one‑to‑one or small group support to students, including physical, social, emotional and academic skill development. Collaborate with teachers, therapists and other staff to adapt curricula and learning materials. Build positive relationships with students, parents, staff and the broader community. Maintain accurate records and assist in assessment of student progress. Qualifications & Experience Excellent teamwork, communication and interpersonal skills. Experience working with students requiring additional support or with disabilities (preferred). Willingness to support teachers in delivering inclusive education programs. Demonstrated good written and oral communication skills in interacting with students, parents and teachers. Ability to assist with general health and well‑being of students. Eligibility Australian or New Zealand citizen, permanent resident or holder of a valid visa with work rights for the term of appointment. Valid Working With Children Check. Consent to a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check and a current Screening Clearance Number. Step 2: Attach the following documents: CV (1–2 pages). Statement (1–2 pages) addressing selection criteria 1, 2, 4 and 6. Evidence of good written, oral and interpersonal communication skills. Evidence of ability to assist teachers/therapists in education or therapeutic programs. Evidence of support with student health and well‑being.
