Workshop / Production Manager – Steel Framing & Estimating

About the Company Total Framing Solutions (TFS) is a growing light‑gauge steel framing manufacturer based in Castle Hill. We supply precision‑engineered wall, floor, and roof framing for schools, hospitals, and commercial projects. Our automated roll‑forming facility is expanding, and we’re now looking for a motivated Workshop / Production Manager who can lead the factory floor and support our estimating function as we grow. About the Role This is a hands‑on leadership role combining workshop / production management with light estimating and job costing. You’ll be responsible for day‑to‑day operations in the factory – making sure machines, materials, and people are working in sync – while also assisting with material take‑offs and pricing for upcoming projects. Key Responsibilities Oversee rollformer, decoiler, and frame assembly operations Plan and monitor production to meet project deadlines and delivery targets Supervise, train, and motivate workshop staff Maintain WHS compliance and safe work systems in the factory Coordinate machine maintenance, coil changeovers, and material flow Review drawings and prepare material take‑offs for estimating Assist with quotes, cost tracking, and production planning alongside the Directors Skills & Experience Background in manufacturing, metal fabrication, or steel framing Familiarity with light steel framing systems and/or production planning Ability to read and interpret engineering or architectural drawings Basic estimating or take‑off experience preferred (training can be provided) Strong leadership, communication, and mechanical aptitude Trade or mechanical qualification advantageous Forklift licence an advantage What We Offer $90k–$100k base salary + super (depending on experience) Long‑term, secure role with a growing project pipeline Genuine variety across production, planning, and estimating Modern equipment and a supportive, down‑to‑earth leadership team Opportunity to grow with the business and shape systems as we scale How to Apply If you’re a practical, organised leader who enjoys running a workshop and getting involved in the numbers, we’d love to hear from you.
