In this role, you'll: Work as part of a team delivering high-quality, timely and solutions-focused legal services and advice on access applications under the Government Information (Public Access) Act (GIPA), this role will see you manage complex information requests, interpret legislation, and support compliance across the Transport cluster. You’ll research case law, prepare decisions, and mentor junior and senior officers while contributing to a culture of transparency and proactive information release. You will lead strategic approaches to information access and risk management in a dynamic, high-volume legal and regulatory environment. The Opportunity A rare opportunity is now available for an experienced Senior Advisor Access Applications to manage the preparation of responses and finalise decisions to access applications and requests under the Government Information (Public Access) Act (GIPA). The purpose of the role will research case law and changes in legislation, provide advice, reports, fact sheets and other materials to support informed decision making on the release of government information, to assist compliance and to manage risk. The role will also deliver high-quality, high-value, timely and solutions-focused legal services, and independent advice to the business unit. About you You are experienced and highly skilled in problem solving, research and analysis, with demonstrated expertise in the interpretation and application of legislation. You possess strong interpersonal and communications skills and are well versed in building and maintaining effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders alike. You value the sharing of knowledge and enjoy guiding, coaching, and mentoring your junior team members.
