Electrical BIM Modeller My client, a leading name in the electrical contracting world across Australia, has asked me to source them an experienced Electrical BIM Modeller to bolster their Victorian engineering team. Key Responsibilities Develop, manage, and maintain accurate 3D models of electrical services using Revit and Navisworks in compliance with project BIM Execution Plans (BEPs). Lead the modelling and coordination of electrical services with other disciplines (HVAC, hydraulics, fire, structure, architecture). Produce coordinated shop drawings, installation details, and prefabrication drawings as required. Work with the BIM Manager and project teams to ensure consistent standards, workflows, and quality control across all models. Participate in and occasionally lead clash detection sessions using Navisworks or similar tools, resolving issues with stakeholders. Assist in the development and mentoring of junior modellers and contribute to team capability building. Collaborate with construction teams to support buildability, site coordination, and as-built documentation. Ensure all BIM work adheres to the business’s digital engineering standards, QA processes, and client deliverables. Key Skills and Experience Minimum 5+ years of experience in electrical BIM modelling for commercial or infrastructure projects. Strong proficiency in Revit MEP and Navisworks Manage (AutoCAD, BIM 360, Dynamo knowledge advantageous). Deep understanding of electrical systems including power, lighting, communications, and containment. Experience working in a Tier 1 or Tier 2 contractor or design consultancy environment. Proven experience in multi-disciplinary coordination and federated modelling processes. Familiarity with Australian building codes, standards, and construction practices. Ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications. Excellent attention to detail, communication skills, and problem‑solving capabilities. Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team‑oriented environment. Qualifications Diploma or Certificate in Drafting, Building Design, or similar discipline (TAFE or equivalent). Additional training in BIM or Digital Engineering highly desirable. Electrical trade background or prior site experience (advantageous but not essential).
