Lecturer/Senior Lecturer in Advanced Manufacturing UNSW Canberra, Australian Capital Territory, Australia Overview Join the School of Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering in the Faculty of Engineering at UNSW as a Lecturer (Level B) or Senior Lecturer (Level C) in a Teaching and Research role. The role involves developing scholarly research and professional activities, contributing to teaching and service missions, and, for the Senior Lecturer level, establishing an internationally recognised research program and strengthening industry partnerships in thermo-mechanical engineering. Responsibilities Contribute to teaching and learning at undergraduate and postgraduate levels, including developing and delivering courses and materials. Develop and lead a research program with national and international impact; translate research results into practical outcomes. Foster industry partnerships and collaborations to drive impactful research and innovation. Engage in service activities within the School and Faculty. Collaborate with colleagues across disciplines and work with diverse student cohorts. Qualifications Lecturer (Level B) PhD in an area of direct relevance, including but not limited to Manufacturing, Mechanical, Aerospace, and Robotics Engineering. Demonstrated ability and track record in modern manufacturing processes, including advanced metals and composites, nano- and micro-fabrication, smart design for manufacturing, microelectronic systems, and robotic manufacturing. Proven experience in translating research results into practical outcomes. Demonstrated capacity for development of alternative delivery models for teaching, including online and blended delivery. High level communication skills and ability to network effectively with a diverse range of students and staff. Ability to work in a team, collaborate across disciplines and build effective relationships. Willingness to undertake required compliance and supervisor training. Ability to implement UNSW health and safety policies and procedures. Senior Lecturer (Level C) PhD in an area of direct relevance, including but not limited to Manufacturing, Mechanical, Aerospace, and Robotics Engineering. Demonstrated ability and track record in modern manufacturing technologies, including advanced metals and composites, nano- and micro-fabrication, smart design for manufacturing, micro-electronic systems, and robotic manufacturing. Extensive experience in translating research results into practical outcomes. Demonstrated success in attracting research funding from governmental and/or industrial sectors. Demonstrated capacity for development of alternative delivery models for teaching, including online and blended delivery. Excellent communication skills and ability to network effectively with a diverse range of students and staff. Demonstrated ability to work in a team, collaborate across disciplines and build effective relationships. Demonstrated experience in supervising research students. Willingness to undertake required compliance and supervisor training. Ability to implement UNSW health and safety policies and procedures. An understanding of and commitment to UNSW’s aims, objectives and values in action, together with relevant policies and guidelines.
