Lecturer/Senior Lecturer in Robotics Engineering UNSW Canberra, Australian Capital Territory, Australia UNSW invites applications for a Lecturer (Level B) or Senior Lecturer (Level C) in Robotics Engineering within the School of Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering. Job Details Salary: Lecturer – Level B, AUD $127,947 to $150,830 per annum + 17% superannuation Salary: Senior Lecturer – Level C, AUD $155,403 to $178,290 per annum + 17% superannuation Full time, 2‑Year Convertible Tenure Track Location: Kensington – Sydney, Australia The Opportunity As a Lecturer (Level B) you will develop your scholarly research and professional activities while contributing to teaching and service. As a Senior Lecturer (Level C) you will establish an internationally recognised research program and play a key role in industry partnerships. We seek a candidate with a proven research background in robotics engineering and energy systems, including experimental expertise in medical robotics, assistive technologies, robotic manufacturing, service robots, and autonomous systems (drones, vehicles, maritime vessels). This role reports to the Head of School and has no direct reports. Skills & Experience Lecturer (Level B) PhD in a relevant field (Manufacturing, Mechanical, Aerospace, Robotics Engineering, etc.) Track record in medical robotics, robotics for surgery, assistive technologies, and autonomous systems across air, ground, and water. Experience translating research results into practical outcomes. Ability to develop alternative delivery models for teaching, including online and blended formats. High level communication skills and networking ability. Team collaboration and cross‑disciplinary relationships. Willingness to undertake compliance and supervisor training. Capacity to implement UNSW health and safety policies. Senior Lecturer (Level C) PhD in a relevant field (Manufacturing, Mechanical, Aerospace, Robotics Engineering, etc.) Track record in medical robotics, robotics for surgery, assistive technologies, and autonomous systems across environments. Extensive experience translating research into practical outcomes. Success in attracting research funding from government or industry. Ability to develop alternative delivery models for teaching, including online and blended formats. Excellent communication skills and networking ability. Experience supervising research students. Team collaboration and cross‑disciplinary relationships. Willingness to undertake compliance and supervisor training. Capacity to implement UNSW health and safety policies.
