Full‑time – 35 hours per week. Flexible work arrangements will be considered. Are you an experienced town planner and passionate about shaping the future of cities, regions and communities? We are advertising a rare opportunity to join Council as a Senior Strategic Planner to contribute to transformative change in urban and regional development to enhance the overall look, feel and liveability of the Queanbeyan‑Palerang region. In This Role You Will Play a leading role in the development of long‑term plans, policy frameworks and strategic initiatives that guide sustainable growth, infrastructure investment and community liveability. Liaise with government agencies, developers, heritage and community groups to deliver planning solutions that balance economic, environmental and social priorities. Deliver strategic planning documentation (plans of management, development contribution plans, planning agreements, etc.), ensure Council compliance with legislative requirements relevant to land‑use planning, and lead strategic planning projects across both urban and rural domains. We Are Looking For Someone Who Possess tertiary qualifications and extensive experience in urban and regional planning. Demonstrated experience in leading and completing major strategic land‑use planning projects. Strong understanding of planning and environmental legislation, with excellent communication skills to liaise and negotiate with a diverse range of stakeholders.
