Overview Join to apply for the Principal Engineer - Rail role at SMEC . We are seeking a talented Principal Rail Engineer who will work across roles as a Project Manager and Design Lead , in our Brisbane office, to provide technical design input, coordination and project delivery activities across major rail projects in collaboration with the local and national business. Responsibilities Provide leadership and proactively collaborate with team members, contributors and stakeholders to maintain quality, timeliness and coordination of project deliverables. Provide expert advice and demonstrate advanced technical skills, ensuring that analysis and design tasks meet appropriate technical standards and client/SMEC requirements. Demonstrate high-level project management skills while delivering projects to the required standard and in a timely manner. Actively contribute to the commercial success of projects and the team, and contribute to successful business development. Minimum qualifications and experience 15+ years of industry experience in project management or design management of rail infrastructure across civil or structural disciplines. Proven experience managing project and design delivery across multiple projects. Experience leading and contributing to bid preparation and providing technical input across all rail disciplines. Demonstrated leadership and management skills. High-level consulting and client management skills. Tertiary qualification / engineering degree. Certified Professional Engineer or on the way to attaining. Good interpersonal and communication skills to work effectively within a culturally diverse and multi-disciplinary environment.
