Position: Instrument Technician – Grade 1 & 2; casual employment. Salary $28.85 – $33.28 per hour + salary packaging + super. About The Department The Sterile Processing Service (SPS) at The Royal Women’s Hospital handles decontamination, packaging, sterilisation and storage of reusable medical devices for 7 operating rooms, the Day Procedure Centre (DPC), and various wards and outpatient clinics. About The Role This autonomous role offers casual employment in a supportive environment. As an Instrument Technician you will collaborate with experienced management and clinical teams. Responsibilities Ensure strict adherence to sterilisation practices and infection control standards. Clean, wash, pack, wrap, and sterilise instruments, equipment, and consumables used across operating theatres, DPC, wards, and outpatient clinics. About You Hold a Certificate III in Sterilising Services. Demonstrate 2–3 years of clinical experience as an Instrument Technician. Solid understanding of infection control requirements and Australian Sterilising Standard (AS/NZS5369). Proven experience in a fast‑paced CSSD hospital environment. Expertise in sterilisation procedures, practices and standards. Familiarity with instrumentation and experience using tracking systems.
