Senior Child & Youth Mental Health Occupational Therapist Level 3 NSW Health – North Parramatta, Cumberland Hospital, New South Wales, Australia About the role This senior occupational therapist role is part of the Prevention, Early Intervention and Recovery Service (PEIRS) at Western Sydney Local Health District (WSLHD). You will lead OT care for children and young people aged 12–25 with complex mental health and neuro‑developmental challenges, working within a multidisciplinary, recovery‑oriented team. Key responsibilities Deliver specialist OT services to youth, including assessment, planning, therapy and evidence‑based interventions. Develop and implement individual care plans in collaboration with families, schools and community partners. Provide clinical supervision to junior staff and students, supporting their professional development. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and community services to coordinate care. Promote quality improvement initiatives and person‑centred care across the service. Essential requirements Current Class C (P2 acceptable) NSW driver’s licence and willingness to drive for work purposes. Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Therapy. General registration as an Occupational Therapist with AHPRA. Selection criteria Demonstrated experience in occupational therapy assessment for child and adolescent mental health in a community setting. Evidence of delivery of recovery‑based programmes and commitment to continuous improvement. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team. Experience in supervising students or junior staff and liaising with university placement coordinators. Excellent written and verbal communication and time‑management skills. Commitment to consumer participation, engaging families and carers in care planning. Ongoing professional development and quality‑improvement engagement.
