The Opportunity This newly created role offers the chance to help shape a key project that supports Australians working within the UN system, and those aspiring to join it. You’ll work closely with a talented and collaborative team to design and deliver initiatives that build Australia’s global footprint and strengthen professional networks across multilateral organisations. As the Communications Officer you will play a key role in executing the key campaigns and communications strategy. This includes delivering high-quality content, coordinating campaign events, managing branding and design outputs, and overseeing merchandise production and distribution. The Role Deliver the UNSC Campaign Communications Strategy through content creation and stakeholder engagement Draft and edit communications materials, including media releases, speeches, social content, and campaign collateral Lead design and production of branded digital, print, and merchandise assets Coordinate campaign events and launches, covering logistics, branding, and stakeholder engagement Manage campaign merchandise: sourcing, design, distribution, inventory, and supplier coordination Oversee procurement and contracts for merchandise and design services, ensuring compliance with DFAT policies Liaise with Posts and Canberra-based teams to coordinate messaging and approvals Monitor communications performance and support reporting and evaluation Advise on strategic messaging, branding, and communications risks Contribute to internal communications and team planning initiatives The Ideal Person You will have demonstrated experience at the APS6 or equivalent levels, with a background in communications, journalism, public relations. Experience in Adobe Creative Suite highly desirable. You’ll bring: Strong written and verbal communication skills, with experience in strategic, institutional, or media communications Proven ability to manage competing priorities, work independently, and deliver projects on time Experience in graphic design, event coordination, and production of branded materials, with knowledge of procurement and contract management Salary / Rate $65/hr - $75/hr + 12% Super 12-month Labour Hire contract Canberra-based role WFH and flexible arrangements can be negotiated 1-2 days a week NV1/2 Clearance required How to Apply To apply online, please click on the appropriate link.
