About The Role This part‑time (0.4EFT) ongoing position is scheduled for Thursdays and Fridays, with flexibility to pick up additional shifts as required. Hours are 8.30 am – 5.00 pm. The role is located in the Nutrition and Food Services department and is responsible for providing high‑quality food services to patients and families within our cook‑fresh centralised plating model. You will work as part of the RCH Food Service Team across a variety of production and distribution areas, ensuring meals are nutritious, safe, and served timely. What You’ll Achieve Work as part of our friendly and supportive team in food production, distribution and storage Flexibility to work within the Diet Kitchen for preparation of special meals, bulk cooking within the Main Kitchen for patient meals, and Early Learning Centre meals/sandwich preparation Collaborate with the Food Service Dietitian and supervisors regarding specific dietary needs of individual patients Communicate effectively with team members to ensure tasks are undertaken efficiently and patient needs are met Provide outstanding customer service and record communication accurately in writing as required Your Skills And Experience Level 1 Food Safety Certificate Minimum Certificate III in Commercial Cookery Basic and Advanced Food Preparation Certificates Food allergy training certificate from foodallergytraining.org.au Advanced food preparation skills About The Nutrition And Food Services Department The Department incorporates the clinical dietetic service, the Main Kitchen that caters for inpatient meals, and the Central Formula Room that produces formula, enteral feeds and fortifies expressed breast milk to meet the nutritional needs of patients.
