Excellent opportunity with a leading national organisation Remuneration circa $105,000-$115,000 PLUS super PLUS salary packaging options PLUS additional leave + professional development allowance + EAP access. About Palliative Care Australia Palliative Care Australia (PCA) is the national peak body for palliative and end of life care. PCA represents all those who work towards high quality palliative care for all Australians. Working closely with consumers, our Member Organisations, national health stakeholders, and the palliative care workforce, we aim to improve access to, and promote the need for, palliative and end of life care. We believe quality care occurs when strong networks exist between specialist palliative care providers, other specialist health sectors, care providers and the community. About the Opportunity PCA has a rewarding opportunity for a passionate and dedicated Senior Marketing & Communications Officer to join the organisation and be part of the team in Deakin, Canberra, ACT. The Senior Marketing and Communication Officer plays a key role in implementing Palliative Care Australia’s marketing and communications activity – helping to craft clear, engaging, and accessible content for audiences across the health sector, and for people wanting to understand more about palliative care and how to support people who need it. This hands‑on role involves creating, scheduling and publishing content in PCA’s owned channels (social media, enewsletters, website) and creating campaign assets that can be shared by members and supporters in third party channels. The Senior Marketing and Communication Officer edits and refines key messages, develops content, coordinates graphic design and logo requests (alongside some hands‑on design work), and monitors and reports on PCA campaign and communication activity. The position also supports national campaigns and communication activities that amplify PCA’s voice and strengthen its connection with communities and the wider health sector. If you’re a creative communicator with a passion for making a positive impact through storytelling and engagement, we’d love to hear from you. Tasks and Responsibilities Contribute to the development, implementation and evaluation of communication and campaign engagement strategies and plans that align with corporate priorities and the annual operating plan. Lead end‑to‑end campaign delivery for assigned campaigns, including briefs, audience targeting, budgets, timelines, channel plans, KPIs, and post‑campaign analysis and learnings. Research, draft, design and publish the PCA fortnightly newsletter, including layout in the email platform, A/B testing and performance reporting. Create and publish engaging, audience‑centred content across PCA owned channels (social, email, website, podcast, YouTube and printed materials), optimised for each channel and audience. Develop and maintain an integrated social media plan and content calendar; schedule and publish posts, manage community moderation and report performance against KPIs. Produce and design campaign assets in Canva (social tiles, eNews headers, infographics, presentations and downloads) and brief/oversee more complex creative delivered via agencies or freelance designers. Plan, co‑produce and manage the podcast series: episode planning, guest coordination, recording or commissioning recordings, basic audio editing, show notes, distribution, transcripts and repurposing audio into short social clips. Manage and optimise the front end for usability, SEO, mobile performance and accessibility; publish campaign landing pages and maintain content quality. Create and deliver digital creative and copy for paid and organic campaigns; support campaign set‑up, targeting and measurement. Build and maintain strong relationships with member organisations, other national peak bodies, health sector partners and key external stakeholders to coordinate messaging and amplify campaign reach. Work collaboratively with internal teams (policy, projects, events) to translate technical content into clear, audience‑focused communications. Provide marketing and communications support for PCA events and initiatives (including National Awards, PCA Connect, Art Prize, Oceanic Palliative Care Conference and National Palliative Care Week). Brief, engage and manage external suppliers and contractors (design agencies, web developers, photographers, videographers, audio editors, print suppliers); manage scope, timelines, invoices and quality control to deliver work on time and within budget. Manage Shopify operations and plan merchandise initiatives to expand reach of the heart symbol for palliative care, support brand visibility and generate revenue (product planning, supplier quotes, inventory and merchandising campaigns). Help develop and maintain the contact database (segmentation, hygiene, opt‑ins and campaign exports) to support targeted email campaigns and stakeholder communications. Maintain campaign documentation, a library of creative assets and briefs, and a searchable content archive for reuse and evaluation. Track, report and translate channel and campaign performance (GA4, social analytics, email metrics, podcast analytics) into actionable insights and continuous optimisation cycles. Ensure brand consistency, plain‑English messaging and high accessibility standards across all PCA channels and materials. Undertake other duties as required that are commensurate with the role. Corporate Requirements Participate as an effective team member within PCA, including assisting other members of the team when required Demonstrate a strong commitment to a quality culture, implementing standards of excellence and a continuous improvement business focus Support and promote a strong safety culture by ensuring all work activities are performed in compliance with the organisation’s Work Health and Safety Policy Reinforce and promote the principles of Equal Employment Opportunity and diversity in the workplace by ensuring that all employees and stakeholders are treated with dignity and respect Be conversant with policies and procedures relevant to this position and workplace Undertake other duties as required, commensurate with existing skills, knowledge and experience Able to demonstrate values consistent with PCA.
