About the position Reporting to, and working closely with the CEO, theExecutive Director assists in advising the TEQSAAccountable Authority on a range of corporate services matters. As a key member of the Executive Leadership Team, the ExecutiveDirector will share leadership accountability and workcollaboratively to support a program of regulatory change and beresponsive in a complex and changing operating environment. The Executive Director will have demonstratedexperience leading a multidisciplinary team that contributessignificantly across the agency to help shape organisationalculture and capability. The Executive Director will model andpromote exemplary behaviours and values consistent withTEQSA’s values and the APS Code of Conduct. They will bepassionate about building trust and confidence in TEQSA’scorporate and regulatory support services functions and exercisegood judgement and initiative in leading and representing TEQSA andinfluencing its strategic direction. The Executive Director will provide leadershipand strategic direction to the Corporate Services and RegulatorySupport Group to deliver a demanding schedule and volume of coreservices, within legislative requirements and service leveltimeframes. They will help shape TEQSA’s operationalpriorities and strategies for the Group to meet the expectations ofthe agency and stakeholders and will identify and implement processimprovements that drive high performance across TEQSA. The Executive Director will provide high-leveland timely advice to a variety of internal and externalstakeholders, unravel complex problems, and develop solutions inconsultation with internal and external stakeholders. They willmanage a diverse team of experienced professionals and inspire andlead organisational change and service delivery improvement,working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. They will work withleaders across the agency. This position may involve some interstate travel. Duties As a Executive Director, you will beresponsible and accountable to: Drive the evolution of TEQSA’s corporate and enablingservices model to ensure alignment with industry best practiceand ongoing ability to deliver on Agency objectives andpriorities. Lead the Group’s work to deliver high quality andtimely outcomes that enhance compliance and quality across thesector, driving a positive team culture committed to continuousimprovement. Advise and support the CEO in ensuring the effective andefficient administration of TEQSA, specifically acrossfinancial and budget management, human resources, corporateperformance, project management, funding negotiation,infrastructure, ICT and Business Solutions, including as a keymember of TEQSA’s Executive Leadership Team. Lead the design, development, and implementation ofstrategic projects within the Group which impact and influenceTEQSA’s operations. Lead and contribute to corporate management and relatedstatutory responsibilities including strategic planning,reporting, corporate and budgetary tasks to deliverorganisational outcomes. Provide strategic and other high-level advice to the TEQSAAccountable Authority, and where appropriate to theDepartment. Build and sustain highly effective and collaborativerelationships with stakeholders to facilitate cooperation andensure high quality support and services are delivered,objectives achieved, and future needs addressed. Work closely with Group directors and assistant directorsto plan and manage resources, and guide, mentor and developpeople and expertise. Build and lead a growing and expert team of professionals,including APS and contract staff. Represent TEQSA on external committees and otherrepresentative bodies to achieve agency outcomes. Our ideal candidate will have an outstanding track record inleading and delivering high qualityadvice in a complex andsensitive environment, excellent stakeholder managementandcommunication skills, be adept at building relationships in acomplex and fast-paced environment and take an innovative approachto difficult issues. TEQSA is looking for a leader with a proven track record in thefollowing: Demonstrated ability to maintain a strategic focus,recognise opportunities and deliver outcomes A proven ability to achieve organisational objectives,build organisational capability and manage risk to ensureagency objectives are achieved Demonstrated ability to lead diverse teams and developcapability and performance through periods of organisationalchange High-level analytical skills and experience solving complexand high-profile issues. Astute judgment and political awareness. High-level management and leadership skills and superiorpeople-management skills, including supporting staff learningand capability development. Excellent stakeholder management, communication,negotiation and influencing skills, including the ability torepresent and negotiate on behalf of the agency. The ability to deal with uncertainty, and identify andrespond to opportunities as they arise, complemented by apositive and proactive approach to issues resolution and areadiness to engage with risk. Demonstrated experience leading and managingmulti-disciplinary teams to deliver excellent service and increating an environment that empowers, mentors, and supportsindividuals and teams to deliver their best. Qualifications and experience The following qualifications or experience will be highlyregarded: An understanding of regulatory processes and regulatoryrisk frameworks. Relevant tertiary qualifications. The successful applicant must: be an Australian citizen. complete a National Police Check satisfactorily. be able to obtain and maintain an Australian GovernmentSecurity Vetting Agency (AGSVA) clearance to Negative VettingLevel 1 status, supported by TEQSA.
