$100,000 – $165,000 + super (on experience level) Hybrid Brisbane CBD / WFH flexibility Newly formed Ecology team of five – high energy, no egos, great culture. Olympic Infrastructure, Renewables and Transport projects. Sustainable development focus – no mining or gas work. This team is looking for a couple of Ecologists to step into a quickly growing team of currently 5 Ecologists – with scope to be 10+ within the next few months. The work is in Offsets & Impact Assessment space – part of a broader sustainability advisory team – delivering some of Queensland’s most influential projects. This isn’t a role buried in bureaucracy or box‑ticking. The team is five strong, led by a Principal who fosters a genuinely collaborative, fun, and buzzing culture. Team expansion Ecologist – 4–6 years looking for mentorship & some seriously interesting projects to dig their teeth into. Senior (6+ years) – technically confident, can guide, review and advise on complex ecology components underpinning major approvals work. Day to day expectations Deliver terrestrial flora and fauna assessments in QLD. Develop and interpret offset strategies in line with state and federal legislation. Liaise directly with clients (including government and infrastructure agencies). Provide ecological advice within the EPBC referral and state approvals frameworks. Support and mentor junior ecologists, sharing knowledge across field and reporting work. Balance technical delivery with high‑level review and strategic input on key infrastructure projects. The Environment The group sits within a large, globally recognised sustainability advisory practice – but the Brisbane ecology team feels like a small studio: fun, relaxed, high‑performing and deeply aligned to purpose. Culture is at the heart of everything this Principal wants to build. Experience 3+ years in consulting within QLD terrestrial ecology and offsets. Impact assessment experience across major infrastructure or renewables. Working knowledge of EPBC and state environmental frameworks. Degree in Ecology, Environmental Science, or related discipline.
