In this hands‑on role, you will deliver high‑quality training, assessment and certification to Aurizon employees and contractors—ensuring our people have the skills, confidence and capability to operate safely and effectively across the rail network. If you’re motivated by developing others, love being in the field, and want a Monday–Friday role with no shift work, this is a fantastic opportunity to make a real impact. About the role As a Technical Trainer, you will deliver and support a range of rail operations training programs, including: Certificate IV in Train Driving across key operational subjects such as Safeworking, Shunting and Train Examination. Engine & Airbrake Training Schools to build technical competency across locomotive operations. Leveraging technology—including Virtual Reality training and future simulator‑based learning —to enhance capability in a safe and controlled environment. Conducting on‑job assessments and providing in‑field coaching to trainees and operational staff. Identifying training needs, supporting process improvements and contributing to continuous uplift in driver capability. About you You will bring a passion for developing people, along with: Certificate IV in Train Driving (or equivalent). Certificate IV in Training & Assessment (TAE) or willingness to obtain. Experience delivering training within the rail industry (highly regarded). Strong communication and coaching capability, with the confidence to work with trainees, drivers and operational leaders.
