Senior Legal Counsel - Interim - 12 months SUMMARY An excellent opportunity for an experienced Senior Legal Counsel to join a leading and established marketing technology group on a 12‑month fixed‑term contract in Sydney. The role involves commercial and technology work, including privacy / data. THE COMPANY An established and well‑known Australian company with a focus on marketing and technology innovation. THE ROLE You will provide legal support across commercial and technology matters, focusing on general commercial, privacy and data issues. In a small in‑house team, you will work semi‑autonomously while engaging with business stakeholders. The role is Sydney‑based with hybrid working flexibility. RESPONSIBILITIES Draft, review and negotiate commercial and technology contracts Advise on privacy, data protection and related compliance Assist with commercial disputes Work with internal teams to identify and mitigate legal risks across projects Provide clear, practical advice to senior stakeholders, escalating when necessary ABOUT YOU You are a commercial lawyer with experience in general commercial and technology matters, ideally also with privacy and data exposure. You’re able to work autonomously in a small in‑house team and build rapport quickly with stakeholders. 6+ years’ post-qualification experience, ideally with in‑house exposure Experience in commercial and technology contracts, with privacy/data expertise Disputes experience also advantageous, but not essential Strong stakeholder engagement skills; able to work independently and report to senior legal leaders Self‑motivated and able to manage matters from instruction to completion ON OFFER Competitive remuneration package based on experience. Initial contract role for 12‑months. Sydney office with hybrid working flexibility.
