Our team is growing, and an exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Conference & Events Food & Beverage Duty Manager to join our conference and events team. You will be an integral part of the team to ensure the business operates efficiently. You'll be leading a large team of dedicated food and beverage professionals – supervisors, team leaders & operations staff who deliver guests great customer service & an exceptional experience. Full availability to work a weekly rotating roster including evenings, weekends and public holiday is essential in this role. Key Responsibilities Provide effective leadership to a large team promoting our culture & values Lead by example, perform food & beverage duties, direct & assist the team to carry out duties ensuring exceptional service is delivered to guests Maintain operating procedures and identify improvements to operating efficiencies Maintain a knowledge of food & beverage products & services, cross sell and upsell Build & maintain effective relationships with internal & external stakeholders Contribute to managing uniform presentation standards, staff rosters, labour expenses, agency, training, performance reviews & recognition Contribute towards reducing costs, ensuring wastage and breakages are minimisedReporting, complete daily cash up, and authorise transactions voids, cancellations, and refunds Manage feedback & resolve difficult situations Ensure a safe workplace is maintained and promote safe work practices Perform physical requirements of the role, e.g. working on your feet & heavy lifting What You’ll Need To Be Successful Previous experience in team leadership role within a conference & events or 4–5-star hotel/resort environment Flexibility & full availability to work a weekly rotating roster, including evenings, weekends & public holidays Recognised qualification in hospitality or food & beverage, desirable RSA Certificate Hold or be eligible to obtain a valid Qld WWCC Blue Card Passion for C&E, service excellence and knowledge of industry trends In depth knowledge of wines, beverages and food and beverage service in a la carte, banquet & buffet procedures Experience in staff management practices including recruitment, rewarding, training, appraising, counselling and development Understanding of labour and beverage cost control Experience in POS & MS Office applications Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, attention to detail, organisational and time management skills Decision making, problem solving and conflict resolution skills Excellent grooming and personal presentation We Are Offering Permanent full-time Competitive salary, industry benchmarked Great discounts on accommodation at 10 resorts, dining + more Free roadside assistance & up to 50% discount on insurance incl vehicle & home + more Health and wellbeing benefits – discounts on gym & golf memberships, spa, eye wear rebate, paid volunteer day, parental leave, EAP + more Work Life & Career benefits – training & professional development, employee referral program, parental leave, EAP + more Employee of the month awards & recognition programs Collaborative workplace culture and values led organisation Career training and development opportunities Complimentary parking onsite The RACV Difference Curious about where this role could take you?
