SVHM is one of Australia's leading Catholic not-for-profit healthcare providers.****About the Role****The Consultant Psychiatrist is accountable for the delivery of clinical services to the consumers of the AIS and SVMH, through providing high quality clinical services, contributing to service evaluation and research and displaying a commitment to ongoing learning and professional development in psychiatry.****The Consultant Psychiatrist AIS provides clinical leadership to the AIS, in partnership with the Director AIS, Director of Nursing Mental Health and Nurse Unit Managers****Duties*** **Promotion and liaison with the relevant community services, NDIS providers, private psychiatrists and general practitioners.*** **Ensuring that there is regular and effective communication with staff from the community and services of SVMH, NDIS providers, private psychiatrists and general practitioners.*** **Working collaboratively with nursing staff and other mental health clinicians to ensure the optimum management of consumers’ recovery-oriented needs.*** **Assessing and managing consumers of the service according to the current best standards, using the best available evidence and meeting the requirements of relevant law, ethics and community needs.*** **Keeping high standard clinical records.*** **Assessing, formulating and implementing treatment via a recovery-oriented framework for consumers.****Skills and Experience*** **Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery or equivalent*** **Fellowship of The Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists or equivalent*** **Registration with AHPRA****Applicants must apply online at and should include Curriculum Vitae and the names and contact details of three referees as part of their application.****The successful candidate will be required to fulfil all St Vincent’s Hospital Melbourne Credentialing requirements before commencing in the position.
