We design, build, and invest in next-generation projects and businesses that will drive innovation and prosperity across Australia.With a strong track record of transforming ideas into ASX-listed innovations – Megaport, Superloop, NEXTDC and PIPE Networks, to name a few – Soda is currently supporting Soda Infrastructure, HyperOne, Biopixel, Biopixel Oceans Foundation (DGR2) and Argo Expeditions under the guidance and expertise of our founder, Bevan Slattery.About the roleReporting to the Senior Legal Counsel, as Legal Counsel you will support the Soda Group to meet its legal obligations and assist the Group’s daily business activities.Drafting and negotiating commercial agreements with customers and strategic partnersAdvising on procurement contracts with major suppliersProviding advice on regulatory issues and assisting with license/ permit applications and compliance globallyDriving group-wide policies and procedures development and management across the GroupReviewing and advising on PR, marketing, and promotional materialsProviding advice on privacy, intellectual property and assisting with the maintenance of our IP portfolioManaging Group compliance, including insurance, contracts, and privacy registersAdvising on new legislation and regulatory changesReviewing employment agreements and providing advice to our People & Culture teamContributing to larger scale projects being undertaken by the Group in the telecommunications, infrastructure, and environment sectorsAssisting on transactions and investments being undertaken by the GroupAssisting with risk management by providing, advice across the GroupAssisting with resolution of disputes as requiredAbout youMinimum 3 years’ PQE with top-tier law firm experienceExcellent communication, and interpersonal skills, with an ability to interact with stakeholder across all levels of the GroupCan-do attitude with experience juggling varying projects or working across diverse businesses simultaneously industriesClear and concise plain English drafting abilities with attention to detailStrong understanding of contracts and key contractual concepts/mechanismsNegotiation experience with an interest to continue to expand and hone these skillsComfortable with ambiguity with an ability to work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlinesCollaborative, whilst also able to work autonomously and to take ownership of projects as neededAbility to provide pragmatic, balanced, commercial adviceExcellent time management and project prioritisation skillsHigh level of integrity and professional accountabilityWork alongside industry thought leaders, transforming the backbone of our digital ecosystemGet your daily caffeine fix with free coffeeBirthday day off, need we say more?Soda Flex Leave – 5 additional days for health check-ups, family events, volunteering, study and/or personal developmentPaid parental leaveBring your furry friends to work in our pet friendly HQFree gym at HQA heap of awesome team eventsSeniority level
