Job Title Senior Safety Programs Officer Salary $113,022 – $136,747 plus superannuation Work Type 12‑month fixed term position, commencing 2 February 2026 About the Role The Senior Safety Programs Officer sits in the Safety Programs Branch and reports to the Principal Officer, Safety Programs. As a key member of the Programs team, you will design and deliver safety programme and project activities aligned with legislative functions and corporate strategy. Responsibilities Lead and support the planning, execution, and monitoring of efficient and effective safety programmes, ensuring activities comply with industry best practice and quality assurance standards. Develop and implement quality assurance processes and procedures for programme activities, conducting regular audits and assessments to ensure compliance and high‑quality standards. Prepare comprehensive reports on programme performance, including key metrics, milestones, outcomes and in‑depth data analysis to identify trends, areas for improvement, and potential risks. Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including timely communication of programme updates, milestones, and issues. Provide authoritative advice and recommendations on identified risks, risk‑mitigation strategies to support continuous improvement initiatives and enhance programme delivery processes and outcomes. Promote and support safe, inclusive and flexible team operations. About You You are an outcomes‑focused individual with a strong interest in developing and leading initiatives that support safe journeys for the bus, CPV and maritime industries. You value continuous improvement, can problem‑solve, and have strengths in project delivery, policy design, communication and stakeholder engagement. You work collaboratively across a multidisciplinary regulatory environment, foster professional working relationships, and embrace diversity. Qualifications Desirable experience in programme or project management within a safety capacity.
