Senior Commercial Advisor

A newly created opportunity is available for an experienced Senior Commercial Advisor to join a small, high performing commercial team. This role provides essential commercial and contractual support across both site and corporate operations, while helping strengthen governance, procurement processes and supplier relationships. As part of a lean team, you will enjoy a high level of autonomy, especially when the current manager is away on leave, acting as the primary commercial contact and ensuring continuity of advice and decision making. Key Responsibilities Provide clear, practical advice on contracts, procurement and commercial risk Support negotiations with suppliers and contractors Draft and review contracts and tender documents Monitor contract performance and manage variations or issues Work with Finance to maintain accurate reporting of commitments and liabilities Escalate or document governance and risk matters to support leadership decisions Step into delegated authority when required, ensuring smooth day to day commercial oversight About You Essential Degree in Commerce, Business, Law or a related field Solid experience in commercial, contracts or procurement roles Strong understanding of Australian employment law, procurement rules and governance Confident managing complex commercial issues independently Comfortable advising executives and boards Capability to liaise with Mandarin speaking stakeholders in Australia and abroad Desirable Experience in mining or resources Strong financial acumen Experience in a foreign owned private company With over 90 years' combined experience, NES Fircroft (NES) is proud to be the world's leading engineering staffing provider spanning the Oil & Gas, Power & Renewables, Chemicals, Construction & Infrastructure, Life Sciences, Mining and Manufacturing sectors worldwide.
